
This is my absolute GOAT. Not to brag, but my puppy chow is so beloved people I’ve met once will find out I’m coming to a party and ask if I’m bringing a container of puppy chow. It’s a real Measure With Your Heart recipe but here’s how I usually make it.
Ingredients:
One box of Rice Chex
One bag of milk chocolate chips (you can use semi-sweet but it’s not the ideal choice)
One small container of peanut butter
One bag of powdered sugar
Cinnamon Sugar
One plastic tub that’s a) microwaveable and b) big enough to hold everything
How-To:
Empty the bag of chocolate chips into your plastic container and dollop in 4-5 big-ass scoops of peanut butter. Microwave this until it melts. Throw in a pad of butter to help it along if you want. You can get into a whole boiler situation if you’re fancy, but I’m going for ease/no mess on this one.
Once everything’s melted, sprinkle some Cinnamon Sugar in and mix it up. Pour the Rice Chex in the container in batches and stir so everyone’s coated in the chocolate/PB mix. You’ll almost always have too much chocolate on the bottom of the container and that’s just something we have to live with.
Immediately after that/while the chocolate is still warm, pour enough powdered sugar on that bad boy to coat the whole thing. Mix it up again, then throw the lid on and shake it like a polaroid picture and/or a Kardashian salad. Put it in the fridge until you’re ready to serve it. Be celebrated as a hero at your next event. Thank me later.
